Approved Learning Partner - Exemption
13 Feb 2008
ACCA was proud to unveil its new Approved Learning Partner - Exemption programme at a launch event in Malaysia on 21 January.
More than 90 accredited institutions, tuition providers and employers attended the event in Kuala Lumpur last month, where they learned all about the latest addition to ACCA's Approved Learning Partner programmes - which is a targeted benefits programme specially designed for educational institutions whose programmes of study have been accredited by ACCA for exemption.
Speaking at the event, Debbie Talbot, ACCA's Accreditation Business Manager commented “We have introduced this programme to reflect just how important institutions who educate students towards accredited programmes are to ACCA. We are committed to working closely with these institutions and that is why we want to develop our relationship even further into a learning partnership.” Talbot added “We have designed the programme in recognition of the fact that graduates of accredited programmes are coming to ACCA, and we want to provide any useful resources or links to our students and learning providers. We hope the programme will benefit all of our key partners in the accounting environment.”
At the event, Katrina Smyth, ACCA's Accreditation Manager - Exemption and Recognition, described the benefits of being an Approved Learning Partner - Exemption. The benefits were divided into three main areas:
- ACCA Links - this includes providing Approved Learning Partners - Exemption with links to contacts at our key partners, such as Approved Learning Partners - Student Tuition, Approved Employers and ACCA members.
- Technical support - this includes resource on the latest accounting knowledge and technical policies, e.g. providing access to ACCA's groundbreaking new Professional Ethics module and updates from ACCA's well-respected global research programme.
- Enhanced status - Approved Learning Partners will be provided with promotional tools to advertise their relationship with ACCA and enhance their brand.
The Approved Learning Partner - Exemption programme has been introduced to educational institutions in Malaysia as a first phase of the programme. It will next be introduced to institutions in the UK later this year, with plans to expand this into further regions in 2009.
